Your information

Privacy policy.

This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we use it and the choices you have. Last updated 27 September 2026.

1. Who is responsible for your information?

Michelle Walker Beauty Training Ltd is the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

Company number: SC887219
Registered office: 13 The Square, Ellon, Scotland, AB41 9JB
Email: Mwbtraining@hotmail.com

2. What information do we collect?

When you contact us through this website or by email, we may collect:

  • your name, email address, telephone number and town or area;
  • the course or training route you are interested in;
  • your current beauty experience and preferred start time;
  • the contents of your message and our correspondence with you; and
  • basic technical and usage information, such as device, browser, IP address and pages visited, where this is provided through our website hosting and security services.

Please do not include health information or other sensitive personal details in the general enquiry form unless they are genuinely needed for an accessibility or learner-support request.

3. How do we collect it?

Most information comes directly from you when you submit the enquiry form, email us or communicate with us about training. Limited technical information may be collected automatically by our website host for delivery, security and site analytics.

4. Why do we use your information?

  • To answer your enquiry and recommend an appropriate route: to take steps at your request before entering into a contract and for our legitimate interest in responding to prospective learners.
  • To manage an application, booking or enrolment: to take pre-contractual steps and perform a contract with you.
  • To maintain appropriate business, learner and financial records: to comply with legal obligations and for our legitimate interests in running and protecting the training business.
  • To operate, secure and understand use of the website: for our legitimate interests in maintaining a safe and effective website.
  • To send optional marketing: only where you have given consent or where another lawful route applies. You can opt out at any time.

We do not use website enquiry information to make solely automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects.

5. Who may receive your information?

We only share information where it is necessary for the purposes above. Relevant recipients may include:

  • FormSubmit, which delivers website form submissions;
  • our email, website hosting, security and analytics providers, including Microsoft and ChatGPT Sites/OpenAI;
  • professional advisers, IT support or service providers working on our behalf;
  • awarding bodies, quality assurance personnel, insurers or regulators where this is necessary for an application, enrolment, qualification or legal requirement; and
  • public authorities where disclosure is required by law.

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

6. International processing

Some technology providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where required, we use providers that apply recognised safeguards for international transfers, such as adequacy arrangements or approved contractual protections.

7. How long do we keep information?

  • General enquiries that do not lead to enrolment are normally kept for up to 24 months after the last meaningful contact.
  • Data-protection complaint records are normally kept for three years after the complaint is closed, unless there is a reason to keep them longer.
  • If you enrol, learner, assessment, contractual and financial records are kept in line with legal, tax, insurance and awarding-body requirements. More detailed information may be provided during enrolment.
  • Technical and website analytics information is retained according to the settings and retention arrangements of the relevant service provider.

Information may be retained for longer where this is necessary to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.

8. How do we protect information?

We use appropriate practical and technical measures to protect personal information, including access controls, password-protected services, limited staff access and reputable service providers. No online system can be guaranteed completely secure, but we review how information is handled and limit collection to what is needed.

9. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of your personal information;
  • correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • ask for information to be deleted or its use restricted;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests;
  • receive certain information in a portable format; and
  • withdraw consent at any time where consent is the lawful basis.

These rights are not absolute in every situation. To make a request, email Mwbtraining@hotmail.com. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.

10. Cookies and website analytics

The website host may use essential technologies required to deliver, secure and measure the site. Michelle Walker Beauty Training does not currently add advertising or behavioural-marketing cookies. If that changes, this policy and any required consent controls will be updated.

11. Children and young people

If you are under 16, please ask a parent or guardian to submit an enquiry with you. We take extra care where personal information relates to a child or young person.

12. Data-protection complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have used your information, email Mwbtraining@hotmail.com with the subject “Data Protection Complaint”. We will acknowledge your complaint as soon as possible and no later than 30 days after receiving it, investigate without undue delay, keep you informed and explain the outcome.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. Visit ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or telephone 0303 123 1113.

13. Changes to this policy

We review this policy when our website, services or legal obligations change. The latest version will always be published on this page with its updated date.
