Do I need beauty experience for the SVQ?
No previous beauty qualification is expected for the full Level 2 pathway. The course is designed as an entry route, but you will need to commit to practice, attendance and professional standards.
Is the course recognised?
The SVQ Level 2 is delivered through a Qualifications Scotland approved centre. Exact certificate and registration details will be confirmed in your enrolment information.
Can I complete one SVQ unit without doing the full qualification?
Yes. Selected treatment units can be studied individually through a supported course lasting a minimum of 6–8 weeks. Availability, price and exact duration depend on the unit and the assessment evidence required.
Can I pay in instalments?
Learner-managed instalments are planned. The total fee is £3,900; the deposit, due dates and final payment terms will be confirmed before anyone enrols.
How much time will I need?
The main teaching day is Sunday, 10am–6pm. Across the full 18-week course, you will also attend two supervised four-hour salon shifts. You should also allow time for preparation, evidence and practice.
Are short courses suitable for beginners?
Some are, while others require an existing qualification or related experience. Each published course date will state the entry requirements clearly.
What is the Learning Salon?
It is a planned 12-week supported placement for newly qualified therapists who need more practice and confidence before working independently.
